It’s been some time since I’ve really participated in an ArtLoveMagic event. When Salem Love called and asked me to do a piece for The Lovin’ Exhibit, I knew I was going to say yes. As it turns out, this was the most rewarding piece I’ve created in a very long time. It’s the first piece I’ve felt connected to in …I can’t remember how long. This is also the first piece I have ever created after deciding on a title. It happened because this line from this song got stuck in my head. I could not stop turning it over, replaying it, pondering its meaning. Since today is my birthday, it seems extra relevant to share the inspiration with you:

I present “There’s a Mirror by the Door for Singing” available for auction through the end of the month in the Janette Kennedy Gallery at South Side on Lamar. All proceeds benefit ArtLoveMagic in the continuation of the good work they do for creatives, children, and humanity across the metroplex and beyond.
