Late Friday afternoon, Brian and I headed south for my very first Houston art show, arriving just in the nick of time to be fashionably late. The show was * gorgeous*. Huge thanks to Julie Zarate for curating this show and including me!! Also, thank you East End Studio Gallery for hosting Director’s Cut! (Psssst. Houston folks, it runs through Saturday, so go check it out if you haven’t!)

As promised, I have pictures of my pieces, both based on Lynch works. These are the smallest reconstructed photography pieces I have ever created. They’re so tiny and cute!

Inspired by Lost Highway, here is “It is Not My Custom to Go Where I Am Not Wanted” 10″ x 20″

In honor of Laura Palmer of Twin Peaks, I give you Barbie Palmer in “Wrapped In Plastic” 14″ x 20″

This is the final image before it got cropped up into a puzzle:

And Brian, sweetheart that he is, got these shots of me with my pieces and me with Julie.

All in all, we had a fabulous trip. And despite being there less than 24 hours, we managed SIX slices of pie from House of Pies. :-o Naturally, we got caught in a downpour on the way out of town and paddled up 45 as best we could. I remember now why living there is so hard: traffic and floods and floods of traffic and traffic in floods. But all’s well that ends well. I know there will be more Houston shows in the future. Can’t wait to get back!
